Shiromani Akali Dal today submitted a serious complaint to the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, regarding the misconduct and false cases being registered by the Tarn Taran district police against Akali Dal workers and leaders.
The party stated that the situation has deteriorated so much that even Mrs. Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa’s daughter, Kanjanpreet Kaur, the Akali Dal candidate, has been falsely implicated in a fabricated case, which reflects the height of Tarn Taran Police’s bias and misuse of power.
The Aam Aadmi Party and the Punjab Government are in a state of panic because they are losing the Tarn Taran by-election. In their desperation, the government is misusing the police to harass and intimidate Akali Dal workers and leaders, employing low and unfair tactics.
Shiromani Akali Dal declared that it will not be intimidated by any oppression or threats. The party made it clear that it will strongly resist the government’s cheap tactics, pressure, and misuse of power.
Akali Dal has urged the Election Commission of India to deploy central security forces in Tarn Taran and to send independent, neutral, and experienced observers from outside the state, ensuring that the elections are held in a completely fair, peaceful, and fear-free environment.
