858 Newly-Appointed Candidates Handed Appointment Letters
Employment Ends the Problem of Brain Drain in the State
Previous Governments Denounced for Neglecting the State and its Youth
Chandigarh, November 1 –
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has set another milestone today by providing 56,856 government jobs to the youth in the last three and a half years, setting a new record and reversing the trend of brain drain.
Addressing the gathering at the event organized to hand over appointment letters to the youth, the Chief Minister expressed hope that these jobs will play a crucial role in changing the destiny of the youth. He mentioned that this venue has witnessed many such ceremonies where youth received jobs in various government departments. Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that this reflects the state government’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of the youth and opening new avenues of employment for them.
The Chief Minister further noted that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that some youth have even received two or three jobs during the state government’s tenure. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that from the very first day of taking command of the state, he ensured that deserving youth got jobs, which resulted in more than 56,000 youth securing government employment so far. He said that today 858 youth have joined the Punjab Government family and will now become active partners in the state’s social and economic progress.
The Chief Minister asserted that this is not a favour to the state’s youth, but they have earned these jobs through their merit. He stated that previous governments never bothered to pay attention to this direction. Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed great pride and satisfaction that these youth have received jobs purely on the basis of merit. Calling on the newly appointed youth to become an integral part of the government, he motivated them to serve the public with full missionary zeal.
The Chief Minister hoped that the newly appointed youth would use their pen to help the needy and underprivileged sections of society. He urged the new recruits to ensure maximum welfare of the people so that every section of society benefits. He reiterated that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that the state government has provided over 56,000 government jobs to the youth so far and emphasized that all recruitments have been done entirely on merit.
The Chief Minister stated that these recruitments were done with complete transparency and the youth earned these jobs by passing tough competitive examinations. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his government’s sole agenda from day one has been to empower the youth by giving them government jobs. He mentioned that today is Punjab Day, but questioned whether it is truly a moment of joy as the state was divided into different parts on this very day.
The Chief Minister said that previous governments never cared about providing jobs to the state’s youth because they were only concerned about the welfare of their own families. Bhagwant Singh Mann remarked that the opposition, frustrated at not finding any solid issue against his government, is trying to defame him to fulfil their personal interests. He stated that these petty conspiracies of the opposition will never succeed as the people of the state are well aware of their vile tactics. He added that the efforts for grassroots change have been validated by government school students passing tough examinations like NEET, JEE, and JEE Advanced.
The Chief Minister announced that the leaders who had patronized the drug trade have already been put behind bars and mentioned that these leaders not only promoted drug trade across the state but were also allegedly selling/supplying drugs in their official vehicles. Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that no one dared to arrest these influential leaders before, but his government has done so, and now they will have to pay the price for their sins. He expressed surprise that when the said Akali leader was arrested, the unholy nexus among opposition political parties was exposed, as they tried to demand special cells and facilities for the accused by raising a hue and cry about human rights violations.
The Chief Minister regretted that Punjab is being systematically defamed in the name of stubble burning as the cause of pollution in the national capital, while the truth is quite different. Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that those who blame Punjab for pollution in Delhi forget that the state of Haryana falls between Punjab and the national capital, yet no one points a finger at it. He explicitly asked the politically motivated leaders why the Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi is so poor at present when stubble is not even being burned in Punjab.
The Chief Minister said that previous governments never cared to improve the health system because they received bribes and facilities from multinational hospital chains. Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that these leaders only promoted private health and education facilities, which caused government facilities in these sectors to lag behind. He added that, however, his government has focused on re-empowering these sectors, which has resulted in revolutionary changes now being seen.
