Dharmendra, celebrated for his unforgettable roles in classics like Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Phool Aur Patthar, Aaye Din Bahar Ke, Seeta Aur Geeta, Raja Jani, Jugnu, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Dost, Sholay, Pratiggya, Charas, and Dharam Veer, leaves behind a towering legacy in Indian cinema.
Most recently, he appeared in Karan Johar’s 2023 film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his condolences, calling Dharmendra’s demise deeply saddening. He said the departure of Hindi cinema’s “He-Man” marks the end of an era. Fadnavis noted that Dharmendra added unmatched charm to the industry’s golden age and remained an active presence from the black-and-white period to modern, technologically advanced cinema. He also recalled Dharmendra’s tenure as a BJP MP from Bikaner and praised him as a warm, compassionate friend and a mentor to younger artistes.
OM SHANTI.
